KART (Karters of America Racing
Triad) was founded in mid-1994 at the request of
karters, promoters, and sponsors in
the mid-America area and is a not-for-profit
corporation in the state of Missouri
formed to enhance and promote the sport of go kart
racing. It is a middle-America based
organization founded for the purpose of having
middle-America people making
decisions on the future of kart racing in
middle-America. The intent is to
have stability and consistency in the rules by placing a
freeze on rulechanges lasting for 2
or 3 year periods except for true emergencies or
safety concerns, and the karters
racing in a division (sprint, speedway, or enduro)
making the decisions for that
division. What this means is enduro and sprint directors
will not vote on items pertaining to
speedway and vice versa. This is accomplished by
having 3 directors elected from each
division (sprint, speedway, and enduro). The 3
directors from each division along
with the members from that division will determine
the rules and direction for that
division.
Some of the goals of KART are that
middle America kart racers not have to travel to
either coast to be able to
experience top-level karting, thus saving them travel time and
huge sums of money that they can
better-spend on other things, and that kart racing in
middle America prosper in the
future.
.
